چکیده

We developed a prototype of a visualization tool called LinkVis. It is a tool for visualizing complex psychotherapeutic actions, their effects and the states of the patients. The combination of different views enables the user to get new insights. Focusing on exploration tasks by the user we enhanced this tool by the Hyperbolic Hypotheses Tree. This feature supports the user in defining goals and getting an overview in order to overcome the gap between highly abstracted information about the states of patients on the one hand and interpretation of details of graphical representations on the other hand.

Spanning trees in hyperbolic graphs

We construct spanning trees in locally finite hyperbolic graphs whose boundary has finite (Assouad) dimension that represent their hyperbolic compactification in a good way: so that the tree has at least one but at most a bounded number of disjoint rays to each boundary point. As a corollary we extend a result of Gromov which says that from every hyperbolic graph with bounded degrees one can co...

Navigating Large Hierarchical Space Using Invisible Links

To date, many web visualization applications have shown the usefulness of a hyperbolic tree. However, we have discovered that strict hierarchical tree structures are too limited. For many practical applications, we need to generalize a hyperbolic tree to a hyperbolic space. This approach results in massive cross-links in a highly connected graph that clutter the display. To resolve this problem...

A New Spatial Database Management System Using an Hyperbolic Tree

Spatial information processing has been a focus of research in the past decade. In spatial databases, data are associated with spatial coordinates and extents, and are retrieved based on spatial proximity. A formidable number of spatial indexes have been proposed to facilitate spatial data retrieval. In this paper, we propose a new scalable, reliable and consistent architecture for spatial data...

Visualizing criminal relationships: comparison of a hyperbolic tree and a hierarchical list

In crime analysis, law enforcement officials have to process a large amount of criminal data and figure out their relationships. It is important to identify different associations among criminal entities. In this paper, we propose the use of a hyperbolic tree view and a hierarchical list view to visualize criminal relationships. A prototype system called COPLINK Criminal Relationship Visualizer...

Investigation of the Allometric Models in Estimation of Poplar (Populus deltoides) Height

One of the most important issues in forest biometrics is the use of allometric functions to estimate the tree height by using diameter-height models. Measuring the total height of trees is usually a complex and time-consuming process. In allometric functions, the diameter is measured directly but the height of the tree is an estimate of an allometric model, which will be more accurate if the cr...
